Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Gather handles personal information when people create events, upload photos, browse galleries and manage releases.
Last updated June 23, 2026
Who This Policy Covers
Gather is an event photo platform for organizers, contributors and gallery visitors. This policy applies when you use the Gather website, sign in to an account, create an event, contribute photos, complete a release or view an event gallery.
An event organizer may also set their own notices, permissions or rules for a specific event. If those terms conflict with this policy, contact the organizer before contributing photos or personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect information needed to run event galleries and keep the service reliable.
- Account information, such as your name, email address and authentication details supplied through the sign-in provider.
- Event information, such as event names, dates, gallery settings, publication status and organizer activity.
- Uploaded content, including photos, filenames, upload metadata, contributor details and any release information you submit.
- Usage and device information, such as pages visited, browser details, approximate timestamps, log data and error reports.
- Communications you send to us or to an event organizer through the service.
How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain and secure event galleries, uploads, downloads, moderation tools and organizer dashboards.
- Authenticate users, preserve sessions and manage access to private or unlisted galleries.
- Process photo contributions, releases and organizer review workflows.
- Detect, prevent and investigate abuse, spam, security incidents and service errors.
- Improve performance, reliability and product quality.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
How Information Is Shared
Event organizers can see and manage information associated with their events, including submitted photos, contributor details and release records. Gallery visitors may be able to view published photos and event details depending on organizer settings.
We use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, databases, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring and similar operational needs. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to Gather.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition or asset sale.
Your Choices
- You can choose not to upload photos or submit a release if you do not want that information processed for an event.
- You can ask the event organizer to remove, unpublish or update content associated with their event.
- You can request access, correction or deletion of personal information by contacting the person or organization operating this Gather deployment.
- Your browser may let you block cookies or storage, but some account and upload features may stop working.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, preserve event records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and maintain backups. Event organizers control whether their event galleries remain published, unpublished or deleted within the product features available to them.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss and misuse. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so use care when deciding what to upload or share.
International Processing
Gather and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws from your jurisdiction.
Children
Gather is not intended for children to create accounts without appropriate consent. If an event includes children, the organizer is responsible for collecting any permissions required for photos, releases and publication.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
Contact
For privacy requests, contact the person or organization operating this Gather deployment or the event organizer that invited you to use the service.
